Bobcat Women’s Tennis Team Opens Season

MSU will conclude its western swing at No. 42 Oregon on Saturday at 10 a.m., in Eugene.
“We’re excited to see what we can put on the court,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “We’ve had a long layoff; however, the kids came back in great shape and we’re ready to compete.”
Highlighting the 2007 Montana State roster are juniors Nuria Hernandez and Nicole Luetolf. The tandem has paced the Bobcats the last two seasons, playing at Nos. 1-2 singles, respectively.
Other potential contributors include Katy Proietti, who has made the transition to the program after playing three seasons with the Bobcat basketball squad. Also returning is junior Remy Clark, who took last season off to return to her native Australia.
Clark’s younger sister Lisa will also see playing time this season.
MSU also returns the strong doubles combination of Allison Fey and McKenzie Hilmer, who went 9-1 overall, last spring.
Rounding out the roster is a pair of freshmen, who have impressive resumes`.
Ali Griffin of Scottsdale, Ariz., and recent newcomer Laura Villegas, Cota, Colombia, will play their first matches as Bobcats.
