Earlier in the afternoon Montana State (3-5) dispatched Rice 3-2.
“Arizona is a very good team and their kids can jump out of the gym,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “I’m proud of the way our kids competed. And, even though the numbers didn’t show it, we got our hands up on the block and got a lot of touches.”
Montana State was led in the loss by Laura Viren with a team-high seven kills, while libero Kandice Kelly guided all players with a match-high 14 digs.
MSU will face Bradley on Saturday afternoon to conclude tournament play.
