When Colorado's famed live mascot, Ralphie, peers across the field at the Bobcats today, he may have some pangs of homesickness.
Ralphie IV, the fourth buffalo to serve in this capacity, hails from the Gallatin Gateway area near Bozeman. He was found as a baby in the jaws of a coyote, was saved and eventually donated to the University of Colorado to serve as a mascot.

What was on Mike Kramer's mind as he entered Folsom Field before today's game? "The new old guys," he said. "I'm anxious to see how the kids that have been in the program but are starting today carry themselves."
It won't take Kramer long to make his evaluation in that area. "The first quarter," he said.

Kramer sees defensive back Tyrone Henderson, who transferred about two weeks ago to MSU from Colorado, as playing a limited role today, but his time will come. "Tyrone is an outstanding player. It didn't take us long to figure that out. He will be as important a player as we have this year."
