KSU won the tournament with a 3-0 record, followed by WSU, MSU and Lipscomb.
Montana State (2-4) was led by junior middle blocker Raelene Purnell, who notched seven kills and six blocks. Four Bobcats hit double-digit digs, led by Laura Viren 15, Kami Buettner 12, Patti Anderson 12, and Kandice Kelly 11.
Wichita State, who is ranked just outside of the top 25 in the CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll, was paced by Sara Lungren with 17 kills and 12 digs.
“We need to get back in the gym and work on our offensive game,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “Our side-out percentage was down. We need to put our offense and defense together at the same time.
“On the plus side, we got everyone in at some point during the weekend, and that experience will help us over the course of the season.”
MSU’s Angela Wiebe was named to the all-tournament.
The Bobcats will play at the Arizona Invitational next weekend in Tucson.
