Stonehouse Ties Career-High as Bobcat Spikers Chap Lipscomb

“I’m proud of the way Kim (Stonehouse) performed,” said fourth-year head coach Miya Malauulu. “Not only did she get outstanding offensive numbers, but she played a complete, all-around match.”
Also in double-figure kills for Montana State (2-2) was Laura Viren. The sophomore from Prior Lake, Minn., recorded 17 kills, while hitting .343 from the floor. Kami Buettner dished out 35 assists, while Kandice Kelly paced the Bobcats defensively with a team-high 20 digs.
“We certainly have a lot of room for improvement,” Malauulu said. “We didn’t sustain a high level of play over the course of the match. We focused on our blocking and transition this week, and I thought we did a nice job in those areas. However, we have other areas that need work.”
The Bobcats notched 13 team blocks and were led by Raelene Purnell and Angela Wiebe with seven and six blocks, respectively.
Montana State hit a season-high .295 from the field and served-up nine aces, led by Kelly with three.
Lipscomb (3-2) was led by Cara Wilber with 16 kills and 13 digs.
The Bobcats will face No. 25 Kansas State and Wichita State on Saturday.
