Creighton (2-0) pulled away from a 25-all tie in the opening game with five straight points to take the opening set. In the second stanza, the Bluejays out-hit the Bobcats .406 to .121 to cruise to the win.
In the final set, MSU got out to an early 12-8 lead, but CU fought back to take a 25-23 advantage. The Bobcats went on a 5-2 run to go ahead 28-27 following a block by Angela Wiebe and Laura Viren. However, Creighton rattled off three consecutive points to win the match.
MSU was paced by Kim Stonehouse with nine kills, while Viren added seven kills and ten digs.
Creighton was led by Carolyn Decker, who notched 18 kills, a .517 attack mark and seven digs.
MSU will play Nevada on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Shroyer Gym
