Bobcat Trio Competes in National Meet

Three Bobcat track and field athletes reach their sports' pinnacle this weekend, competing in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Sacramento.
Josh Henigman begins competition with hammer throw trials on Wednesday at 12 noon.. The senior from Bridger enters the meet 50th in the nation on the strength of his performance at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet. He competed in the national indoor meet last spring, and appeared headed for All-America honors before a disputed foot foul call disqualified him. Should Henigman advance to the finals, he competes Friday at 10 am.
Big Sky heptathlon champion Erin Jones-Graf, a senior from Harlowton, competes in the heptathlon on Friday and Saturday. The 100 hurdles beegins at 11 am Friday, with the high jump, shot put and 200 following. The heptathlon long jump starts at 11:30 Saturday morning, with the javelin and 800 to follow.
Big Sky pole vault champion Ellie Rudy, a sophomore from Woodland Park, Colo., competes Thursday at 5:30 pm. If the all-time MSU and Big Sky record-holder advances to the finals, she competes at 12:45 pm on Saturday.
