Henigman Racks Up School Record

Josh Henigman saved his best for last, and it was good enough that his best won't be his last.
On his fifth throw, Henigman chucked the hammer a school record 211-feet, 3-inches to clinch third in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships and guarantee himself a spot in the NCAA Championships. "Josh really had a good series," said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. "Everything looked good, and he really unloaded one on his last throw." Henigman's throw was the fourth-best in Big Sky history.
Erin Jones-Graf tied a school-record in the 100 hurdles. Jones' mark of 13.78 was a personal best, and good for 16th. "Erin really ran well," Kennedy said. "This meet is a great experience for her, and good training for the NCAA (heptathlon) Championships."
Bobcat sophomore Nathan Palmer posted a 183-6 in the hammer, his best mark by an inch, to finish seventh. That mark "puts him in the pool" of athletes to be considered for a wild card spot in the NCAA meet. Jesse Allen threw the hammer 173-9. Dan Johnson posted a mark of 48.11 in the 400 meters.
"It was a good day," Kennedy said. "With Ashley Jones up in the hammer and Ellie Rudy in the pole vault and Jesse Allen in the shot put, we're all looking forward to (Saturday)."
