Waves Crash Montana State NCAA Appearance

The match, which was to begin at 10 a.m. (MST), was postponed a few hours due to inclement weather.
When the fog lifted, the Waves captured No. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the first point of the match.
Pepperdine (31-2) captured three straight singles matches and advance to the round of 32 as Andre Begemann defeated Tejeshwara Chigateri 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles to clinch the win.
The Waves are 20-0 on its home court this season.
“We faced an outstanding team and came up short,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “I’m so proud of the way these kids have performed over the past 3-4 years. Our seniors have set the bar for the Montana State tennis program and it will be hard for any team to live up to what they have accomplished during their time in Bozeman.”
Montana State (15-11) was making its third straight NCAA appearance.
Bobcat standout and three-time Big Sky Conference MVP Federico Ueltschi will play in the NCAA Singles Championships beginning May 24 at Stanford.
