Bobcat Women Second, Jones Wins Hammer

Montana State junior Ashley Jones won the hammer throw title on Friday, leading Montana State to a strong second-place showing after the first day of competition at the 2006 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Jones led a strong group in the hammer throw, as MSU finished first, fourth (Megan Lee), fifth (Karen Helvey), and eighth (Mary Jo Kraft). MSU's women scored 50 points in the first day of competition, trailing only NAU's 59, while MSU's men are in sixth.
