Jones-Graf Grabs Second Hep Title

Erin Jones-Graf secured a spot in Bobcat history on Thursday, becoming the first Bobcat to win consecutive Big Sky Heptathlon Championships.
Jones-Graf, who won the 2005 title with 5,191 points, set the Montana State record with 5,362 points on Thursday. The senior from Harlowton now owns two Big Sky Heptathlon titles to match her two league indoor pentathlon championships.
Jones-Graf's accomplishment has a historical flavor. She is one of six repeat winners in the heptathlon in league history, a list which includes NAU's three-time champion Anna Wiklund. Her mark is the second-highest total in a league championship meet in the last 15 years, and is the sixth-highest total in conference history. She stands 15th in the nation, pending results from other league meets.
Bobcat senior Steven Hodge finished fourth in the decathlon. MSU's Mike Green finished sixth.
