Bobcats Add to Throws

Montana State added depth to its throws squad Wednesday, signing versatile athletes from Butte and South Dakota, Bobcat throws coach Mike Carignan announced.
Pat Eckerson joins the Bobcat track squad next year, which will be his second at MSU. He is an architecture student, who won the 2005 State AA discus title at Butte High. He owns a personal best discus mark of 173 feet. "Pat has great dedication to the sport, and should excel in the shot and hammer as well as the discus," Carignan said.
Kristin Schaffer won the 2004 state shot put title at Pierre, S.D., High, and currently owns her state's top shot put mark at 44-7 competing for Custer, S.D., High. "Kris is very dedicated to throwing and is an excellent student," Carignan said.
