Montana State Women Split at Boise State Invite

Montana State (8-11) defeated Gonzaga 6-1 and suffered a 5-2 setback to Idaho.
Against the Bulldogs, MSU won the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles. Montana State’s No. 3 duo of Allison Fey and McKenzie Hilmer remained undefeated (6-0) on the season with an 8-4 victory over Courtney Lau and Bozeman native Katie Colton.
“After our loss to Idaho, I was very happy with the way we responded against Gonzaga,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “We knew this was going to be a tough weekend and it’s good to see the girls stepping-up their play as we get closer to Big Sky Conference tournament time.”
In its loss to the Vandals, Montana State received wins from sophomores Nicole Luetolf and Fey at No. 2 and 5 singles, respectively.
MSU will face Boise State on Sunday morning.
