Bobcat Track Teams Head to Oregon

Montana State hits one of the high points of its regular season this weekend, traveling to the Oregon Invitational, and Bobcat coach Dale Kennedy has one thing on his mind.
"We need to keep improving," the veteran MSU coach said, "and keep adding qualifiers."
Kennedy's men's and women's teams together added over a half-dozen Big Sky Conference qualifiers last week, and he looks for that trend to continue in college track and field's Mecca this weekend. "We've shown a lot of improvement to this point, and I think we're excited to keep it going."
Seventeen Bobcat men have qualified for the conference championships, while 14 women have earned entry into the league meet. Additionally, four MSU women and a pair of men have qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.
"We need to keep going to get a full slate qualified," Kennedy said. "We're past the halfway point of the regular season now, and we're still improving. That's a good sign. We're going in the right direction."
Kennedy said this weekend's trip to Hayward Field is something his team points to all spring. "It's a great atmosphere and a lot of fun," Kennedy said. "This meet is attracting a lot of premiere programs from other parts of the country, like Ohio State, because they made a concerted effort to market it. I think this meet might mark the rebirth of home track and field events at the University of Oregon."
