Montana State Tennis Teams Cage Bengals

Montana State won all three doubles matches to capture the first point, and swept all six singles matches to cruise to the win. MSU dropped its only set of the afternoon as Justin Hauck posted a 6-2, 5-7 (11-9) win at No. 6 singles.
“We had a great match,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “Idaho State was a very good team and I’m happy with the way our guys performed on the indoor courts.”
The Bobcat women’s squad finally came out on the good end of a 4-3 decision to post its second league victory of the year. MSU had previously dropped 4-3 decisions to Northern Arizona, Montana and Weber State.
MSU opened the match winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles to earn the first point. The Bobcats received victories at No. 1, 2 and 6 singles to secure the win.
“It was nice to finally come out on the winning end of a close match,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “This will give us confidence as we head towards the Big Sky tournament. We know we can compete with anyone in the league, and this is a big boost.”
