Bobcat Skiers Remain 14th After Day Two of NCAA Championships

The Bobcats were led by Chris Coe in the men’s 10-kilometer classic race. Coe finished 23rd overall in a time of 30:41.8. Also contributing for MSU was Mark Iverson, who placed 26th in a clocking of 30:52.1
John Stene of Denver won the men’s individual title in 27:57.7.
In the women’s Nordic competition, the Bobcats were led by Mandy Bowden, who finished 33rd overall in a time of 18:53.8. Freshman Claire Rennie, who was participating in her first ever NCAA race, completed the five-kilometer race in 34th place with a showing of 19:56.1.
Jana Rehemaa of Colorado won the women’s crown in a time of 16:29.6
Defending national champion Denver holds the top spot with 337.5 points, followed by Colorado 307, New Mexico 254, Utah 253, Vermont 253, Dartmouth 237.5, Alaska-Anchorage 208, New Hampshire 170, Middlebury 169, Nevada 135, Alaska-Fairbanks 129, Bates 110, Northern Michigan 108, Montana State 88, Williams 64.5, Western State 63, Colby 59, Michigan Tech 37, Whitman 26.5, Boise State 24, St. Olaf 12, Wisconsin Green Bay 10, St. Lawrence 5 and Gustavus Adolphus 2.
The alpine slalom event will be held Friday night.
