Bucknell Aid Takes Over Bobcat Secondary

Mike Kramer continued his makeover of the Bobcat football coaching staff on Wednesday, adding Bucknell secondary coach Steve Perry to the Bobcat program.
Prior to Perry's three-year tenure with the Bison, he worked with current Bucknell coach Tim Landis at Saint Mary's from 2000-02. MSU opened the 2002 season with a 27-24 win over the Gaels in Bozeman.
"Steve brings a wealth of experience on both the East Coast and West Coast to our staff," said Bobcat coach Mike Kramer. "We are familiar with the quality of work Tim Landis' staff produces on the defensive side of the ball, and it doesn't hurt to have a guy with an option background. Steve can coach corners and safeties, man and zone, he can do it all. He will be a great addition to our staff."
A 1996 graduate of Gettysburg College, Perry started for three seasons for the Bullets. He served as an assistant at his alma mater for three seasons while earning his master's in athletic administration from Western Maryland (1999). Perry joined Landis at Davidson in 1999, moving with that staff to Saint Mary's the next season. Perry's Bucknell secondary ranked among the I-AA leaders in interceptions the last two seasons, and he has coached several all-conference honorees.
Kramer indicated that Kane Ioane will aid Perry with Bobcat defensive backs.
