Bobcat Skiers Ready for NCAA Championships

The Bobcats will look to improve upon its 13th place showing last season. MSU is coming off a strong sixth place finish at the RMISA Championship-NCAA Western Regional meet.
Six Montana State student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships, led by junior Spela Bertoncelj.
The transfer from Boise State posted five top ten finishes this winter in the alpine events, with a season-best fourth place showing in the giant slalom at the Montana State Invitational.
Also competing in the alpine races will be men’s standout Cory Harris.
Four Nordic athletes will also be competing this weekend. The contingent will be led by Mandy Bowden, who notched three top ten finishes, including a season-best sixth place in the freestyle at the Western State Invite.
Also qualifying in the Nordic events are Claire Rennie, Mark Iverson and Chris Coe.
The 2006 NCAA Skiing Championship will begin with the giant slalom event on Wednesday, followed by Nordic classic on Thursday morning. The slalom races will be held at night on Friday, and the Nordic freestyle will conclude the championship on Saturday morning.
