Bobcat Netters Hit the Road

The Montana State (7-7) men will face No. 58 Utah on Thursday at 5 p.m. The Bobcats will also meet Utah State on Friday and Brigham Young on Saturday.
“This is an extremely tough road trip,” said MSU head coach Mike Phillips. “Hopefully, our spring break trip has prepared us to compete at a high level against the best of the region. We always have some pretty good battles against these three schools.”
The Bobcats will be led by Federico Ueltschi, who was listed No. 118 in this week’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings. In addition, MSU will rely on its undefeated No. 2 doubles tandem of Ueltschi and Tejeshwara Chigateri. The twosome is currently ranked No. 66 in the ITA poll.
The Montana State (6-7) women’s squad will face intra-state rival Montana on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Missoula. MSU will conclude its road trip at Washington State on Friday and Lewis-Clark State on Saturday.
“It will be a crucial Big Sky Conference match on Thursday,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “Montana has a very good team and some new faces. We’re coming off a solid win over Eastern Washington, and hopefully, we can keep the momentum going.”
MSU was been paced this season by sophomores Nuria Lozano and Nicole Luetolf, who have combined for 23 victories at the No. 1 and 2 singles spots. The duo has also combined at No. 1 doubles, and has notched an 11-5 overall mark.
