The annual Women’s Basketball banquet will be held this Thursday, March 23 at 6:00 pm at the Valley View Golf Club in Bozeman. The event is sponsored by the Fast Break Club. Bobcat radio man Mark Martello will emcee the banquet and present team awards, as well as recap the 2005-06 season.

No events – spring break
Montana State women resume their spring schedule this week after a week off for spring break by traveling to Creswell, Ore. for the University of Oregon’s Duck Invitational. The meet sports a highly competitive 16-team field that includes three other Big Sky schools: Idaho State, Portland State, and Weber State. The event is at Emerald Valley Golf Course and includes 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.

Montana State men’s tennis concluded their spring break tour with three disappointing losses to California schools. UC Irvine rallied from dropping the opening doubles point to take four-of-six singles matches en route to a hard-fought 4-3 decision over Montana State. MSU opened the match winning at No. 1 and 2 doubles, behind the efforts of Marek Gebicki, Kyle McDonald, Federico Ueltschi and Tejeshwara Chigateri.
In singles action, Ueltschi posted a 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 win over UCI’s Victor Lamm. The Anteaters answered winning at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 6 singles, including Mustafu Ulukan’s three-set victory over Chigateri at the fourth spot in the ladder.
Against UC-Riverside, Montana State won the doubles point, sweeping all three matches. UCR’s Mark Contreras battled back from a set down to win the decisive singles match 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 over Gebicki. Posting singles victories for the Bobcats were Federico Ueltschi and Jake Berriochoa.
Rice handed the Bobcats a 5-2 setback in San Diego. Montana State earned its points at No. 2 and 5 singles with Marek Gebicki posting a three set win over Ralph Knupfer and Jakub Dybala notching a 2-6, 7-6, 7-6 decision over Rodrigo Gabriel.

3/25: Montana State Open (weather permitting)
Montana State opens its outdoor track and field season this week, weather permitting, with a home track meet with Dickinson State at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex Saturday. The meet is slated to begin at 11:00 am with field events and track events beginning at noon.
