Montana State Women Fall at Weber State

Weber State (13-13, 7-6) was paced by Chelsey Warburton with 17 points, including a 5-of-10 effort from three-point range. Also contributing to the Wildcat attack were Tashina Taylor 15, Laura Porter 12, Sara Tuomi 10 and Shantee Releford 10.
“It was a game of spurts,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We are a team of spurts and our lack of consistency is what hurts us.
“However, we also showed sparks for what the future holds,” Binford added.
Montana State (3-22, 2-11) was led by Whitney Connolly, who came off the bench to notch 16 points on 6-of-12 from the field. Also in double-figures for the Bobcats were Jenny Heringer 14 and Nubia Garcia 10.
MSU’s freshmen duo of Heringer and Garcia scored the first nine points of the game as the Bobcats built its largest lead at 13-10 at the 14:03 mark on an Alyssa Nelson jumper.
WSU used a 7-3 run at the end of the first stanza to take a 40-33 lead into intermission.
The Wildcats outscored MSU 12-6 in the first five minutes of the second half to secure the win.
For the game, Weber State shot 55 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Bobcats 40-23. MSU was led under the boards by Garcia with six rebounds.
Montana State will conclude its season at Idaho State on Saturday afternoon.
