Bobcat Tennis Team Drops Two in Colorado

“The team competed very well and we’re much improved from our opening weekend,” said MSU men’s tennis coach Mike Phillips. “This weekend was a great opportunity for us to compete at a high level, and across the boards all the guys did very well, especially freshman Jakub Dybala who went 2-1 at No. 6 singles.”
MSU standout Federico Ueltschi posted the biggest win of the weekend, upending Colorado’s Eric Molnar 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Molnar was ranked No. 60 in this week’s ITA singles listing.
Dybala was the only Bobcat to post a win against DU, winning at No. 6 4-6, 6-1, 7-6.
“We had a lot of matches go to three sets and tie-breakers,” Phillips said. “Despite going 1-2 on the weekend, we gained a lot of experience and confidence.”
