Bobcat standout Federico Ueltschi paced MSU defeating Justin Lau at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Ueltschi combined with newcomer Jakub Dybala at No. 2 doubles, where the tandem helped Montana State capture the opening point with an 8-4 win over AFA’s Robby Alexander and Ryan White.
“We opened our road trip with a solid win over a very good Air Force team,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “We need to carry the momentum over into our next two matches, both coming against teams that represent some of the best tennis in the Rocky Mountain region.”
Montana State (2-2) will play at Denver on Saturday, before meeting No. 51 Colorado on Sunday afternoon in Boulder.
