Bobcats Fall In Cheney

Montana State has lost in a variety of ways during its current five-game conference losing streak, but none quite like Saturday's 87-53 drubbing in Cheney. Eastern Washington led by 20 in the first half and the Bobcats could get no closer than 15 in the second, as the Eagles celebrated Senior Night in style.
MSU's task, says Bobcat coach Mick Durham, is to regroup the way Eastern did after losing in similar fashion to Montana at home on Thursday. "We need to show a little Bobcat pride," Durham said after Saturday's disappointing loss. "I know no one in that locker room is happy about how things are going, and we have four seniors that need to step up."
Ironically, a Senior Night win by MSU's productive senior class -- Marvin Moss, Al Beye, Ja'Ron Jefferson, and Taylor Pratt -- would guarantee another home game. A loss would likely send MSU to Sacramento to open the Big Sky Tournament against the Hornets, who MSU faces on Monday.
Eastern shot 57% on Saturday, led by Rodney Stuckey's 26-point performance. The freshman also had four boards and five assists. Deuce Smith, EWU's only senior, scored 19 points. MSU shot 41% on the night.
