Sweet 16: Bobcat Men’s Tennis Team Downs Griz

“The guys are really starting to come together,” said MSU head coach Mike Phillips. “We had to make a few adjustments in the line-up, but I thought everyone handled it pretty well and we were able to get a solid win over a very improved Montana team.”
The Bobcats (4-4) opened the match winning the doubles point, capturing victories at Nos. 2 and 3. MSU then won at Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 6 singles to secure the victory.
Senior Tejeshwara Chigateri sparked the Bobcat victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Colin Dektar at No. 3 singles. Chigateri combined with Federico Ueltschi at No. 2 doubles, where the tandem posted an 8-3 win over UM’s Josh Katz and Felipe Raw.
Montana State also posted a 6-1 win over Lewis-Clark State on Saturday. Federico Ueltschi led the Bobcats at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Ara Sarkissian.
