Bobcat Golfers Open Season in Windy California

Montana State fired an opening round 343, good for eighth place out of 11, at the Lady Braveheart Classic hosted by UC-Riverside on Monday.
Kelly Gillum shot an 81 and stands in 12th after one round of the two-round event. LaRae Smith shot 85 (25th), Stephanie Simmons 87 (37th), Kylie Anderson 90 (53rd), Kristina Kurcinka (58th) and Shannon Donegan 94 (62nd).
The first round was played in extremely windy conditions, according to MSU head coach Brittany Basye. "The wind was bad, 50 miles an hour, and really affected everyone," she said. "You just put it behind you and look forward to the second round."
Play concludes with the final round on Tuesday.
