An Open Letter to Bobcat Fans

On November 4, the Bobcat football team earned a hard-fought win over Northern Colorado to clinch a championship showdown with Montana that closes the regular season. With so much riding on the outcome, emotions ran high that afternoon. That is natural, because Bobcat fans are passionate about their team.
After the game, however, an ugly incident occurred. An automobile used by that day's game officials was vandalized, and the officials harassed as they left the Stadium. This act was perpetrated by only a small handful of people, yet it reflects negatively on the entire institution and community.
We will, under no circumstances, tolerate this behavior. It is inexcusable. It does not reflect the class which our football program works so diligently to maintain, and it does not reflect the vast majority of our fans or anyone officially related to the school. I am asking all of our good fans to help eliminate this type of behavior. If you see fans acting inappropriately to opponents or officials, please alert security officials. We must not allow the actions of a few to sully the solid reputation this athletic program has worked hard to build.
