Last Week:
11/4: won vs. Northern Colorado, 13-10
The Bobcats won their sixth straight game in nail-biting fashion, scoring on two Jeff Hastings field goals and an Evin Groves run and holding the ball for the game's final three minutes for the victory.
"That was a really fun college football game," Kramer said after MSU moved to 6-1 in Big Sky play with only the league championship game at Montana on November 18 remaining. "Northern Colorado really came to play. It was a tremendous effort by Northern Colorado and by Scott (Downing, UNC's head coach) and his staff."
While the game developed into a defense-and-field-position struggle for most of its duration, MSU managed to create some significant offense on the ground. Evin Groves knocked the rust off from seven weeks of inactivity last week, and on Saturday ground out 120 rushing yards.
Volleyball (7-18,3-11)

MSU volleyball will finish its season on the road this week. After falling to Weber State, the Bobcats became ineligible for post-season play. Portland State currently sits in second place in the BSC with a 12-2 record. MSU lost to PSU earlier in the season, 0-3, and lost to Eastern at home 1-3. Four seniors will be playing their final career matches: Kami Buettner, Kandice Kelly, Kim Stonehouse, and Angela Wiebe.

The Montana State volleyball team dropped a 30-28, 30-13, 30-22 decision to Utah Valley State, Friday night in non-conference action. Junior Raelene Purnell paced Montana State (7-17) will 11 kills, while hitting .350 from the field. Kim Stonehouse chipped in nine kills and a .333 attack mark. Allyce Bebensee led all Bobcats players with 12 digs.
The Montana State volleyball team’s hope of going to the Big Sky Conference tournament ended in a tough 30-25, 30-26, 34-36, 27-30, 18-16 loss to Weber State, Saturday night. Montana State (7-18, 3-11) was paced by sophomore Laura Viren with 20 kills and 20 digs. Also in double-figure kills were Kim Stonehouse 18, Angela Wiebe 16 and Raelene Purnell 15. Wiebe and Purnell also combined for 15 blocks.

The Bobcats continue their pre-season schedule this week at Utah Valley State on Friday. The Wolverines won their first game of the season Nov. 1 against Dixie State, 77-47. This year’s UVS team includes five players off last year's 16-13 team and two players who played in the 2003-04 season that just returned from two year LDS missions.
The ‘Cats return home Nov. 13 to host UC-Santa Barbara. The Gauchos won their first home exhibition against UC San Diego, 62-51. UC-SB has three returning starters from their 2005-06 squad, and placed fifth in the Big West last year with an overall record of 15-14.
Last Week:
Montana State turned in a solid effort to earn a 78-63 victory in the team's exhibition opener on Wednesday against Minot State. The Bobcats jumped out to a 12-3 lead and never looked back en route to the win. Nick Dissly led all scorers with 26 points, and the Bobcats converted 16 of 19 free throws in the second half. While Dissly paced the Bobcats in scoring, three newcomers joined him in double-figures. Junior college transfers Carlos Taylor (19) and Adrian Zamora (11) each got in on the act, as did redshirt freshman Branden Johnson (11 points and a game-high eight rebounds).
MSU closed the exhibition season with a win on Sunday night. Freshman forward Branden Johnson scored 17 points off the bench and senior forward Nick Dissly added 16 to lead Montana State to a 78-55 exhibition win over Western (Colo.) State. The win closes MSU's two-game exhibition schedule, a pair of wins.

Montana Tech started off their preseason with three victories against NAIA opponents. The Orediggers have no seniors on their squad, and will travel to Eastern Washington Nov. 10 for their first exhibition game of the season.
Last Week:
11/2: won vs. MSU-Billings, 75-69
The Montana State women’s basketball team rallied from a 14-point first half deficit, shooting 59 percent in the second stanza to post a 75-69 win over MSU-Billings. MSU-B jumped out to a 23-9 advantage at the 5:07 mark. Montana State closed out the last five-minutes of the first half with a 15-8 run to cut the margin to 31-24 at intermission before going on to win the game. Junior college transfer Rebecca Mercer led four Bobcats in double-figures with 15 points on 5-of-8 from the field. Also hitting double-digits were Garcia 14, Connolly 12, and Perry 10. MSU was led under the boards by Garcia with eight rebounds, while Krislyn Wallace added five. Both Garcia and Perry recorded a game-high four steals. Senior Alyssa Nelson led both squads with six assists.
