Bobcat Spikers Drop Non-Conference Match

“It was one of those matches where we were up, then lost the lead, and then everything broke down,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “Now, we have to regroup. If we can get the next three Big Sky matches, we still have a shot for the tournament.”
Junior Raelene Purnell paced Montana State (7-17) will 11 kills, while hitting .350 from the field. Kim Stonehouse chipped in nine kills and a .333 attack mark. Allyce Bebensee led all Bobcats players with 12 digs.
For the match, Utah Valley State (14-10) out-hit Montana State .405 to .165, and held an 8-2 advantage in blocking, as well.
The Wolverines were paced by Jessica Enders with a match-high 15 kills and three blocks.
Montana State will play at Weber State on Saturday night.
