Montana State travels to Appalachian State Saturday to face the FCS Playoffs' first seed and the nation's top-ranked team at 4 pm EST/2 pm MST. MSU faces its second straight Southern Conference foe - and only its second SoConn opponent ever - on ESPN2.
INJURY REPORT: LB Epikopo King sprained a knee and is highly doubtful for Saturday’s Division I Playoff Quarterfinal game at Appalachian State. Of the cadre of ‘Cats that missed last week’s win over Furman, WR Deon Toliver (collar bone), RB Evin Groves (knee) and CB Michael Beach (knee) appear out for this weekend. WR Josh Lewis (shoulder), LB Will Claggett (knee), LB Chase Gazzerro (concussion), and RB Aaron Mason (knee) enter this week questionable.
STUDENT-ATHLETE MEDIA AVAILABILITY THIS WEEK: Montana State student-athletes are available to the media only during the Papa John’s Media Lunch on Tuesday from noon to 1 pm MST in the Bill Ogle Hall of Fame. As per normal, freshmen are not available for interviews.

TRAVEL: Montana State leaves Bozeman late Thursday afternoon, and spends Friday night at the Best Western Banner Elk near Boone. The team returns to Bozeman via charter after the game. The rest of the team’s travel schedule remains TBA.

• Montana State’s first playoff win in 22 years also gave the Bobcats their first eight-win season since 1984, when 12-2 MSU won the national title
• Furman ran only two plays in MSU territory in the first half (both resulted in losses that knocked the team back to its own side of the 50), and didn’t reach the MSU red zone until its final drive
• Mike Kramer has won 40 games at Montana State, 12 of them against teams ranked in the I-AA top 25 (MSU is 12-16 against ranked opponents under Kramer)
• Mike Kramer’s Bobcats are 26-6 when holding the opponent to less than 20 points
• When Jesse Anderson scored on the punt he blocked it was MSU's first score on a blocked punt since Mike Colston did so in 1993
• In spite of winning six of its previous seven games, MSU’s 31-13 win over Furman was its largest margin of victory of the season, and the only double-digit win other than its 14-0 over Portland State on October 7
• The ‘Cats are now 6-1 this year when winning the coin toss
• Mike Kramer’s 40 wins as MSU’s head coach is third in school history, behind Sonny Holland (47) and Cliff Hysell (41)
