Bobcat Women Roll to Win in Wingate Inn Classic

After giving up the first three points of the game, Montana State (2-2) went on a 17-6 run to take a 17-9 advantage with 10:28 left in the first half on a Whitney Connolly jumper.
MSU held a 42-24 advantage at intermission.
In the second stanza, the Bobcats shot 61 percent from the field, connecting on 19-of-31 from the floor. MSU built its largest lead at 61-35 with 10:24 remaining following a Scotta Morton basket. Cal State Fullerton (1-4) closed to within 76-60 with 4:06 left, but MSU answered with a 10-3 run to secure the victory.
Connolly paced the Bobcats coming off the bench to record game-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Also in double-figures were Krislyn Wallace 16, Nubia Garcia 13 and Rebecca Mercer 13.
“We’re coming together,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We executed very well on the offensive end. I’m happy we could get everyone in the game. We’ll have some fresh legs for Saturday night.”
Cal State Fullerton was led by Toni Thomas with 16 points.

In the opening game of the tournament, North Dakota State rallied for a 59-54 win over Texas-Arlington.
