Montana State Women’s Basketball Program Inks California Prep Standout

As a junior at Diamond Ranch High School, Dy averaged 10 points, 4.5 assists, 2.6 steals and 2.0 rebounds per game. In addition, she shot 48 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. The Panthers finished the 2005-06 campaign with a 29-5 overall record and a 10-0 Mount Baldy League mark.
“Eliza is very skilled offensively and distributes the ball exceptionally well,” Binford said. “She understands the game and she knows how to win. She will help fill the void left by Alyssa Nelson.”
Dy led Diamond Ranch to the C.I.F. championship and garnered All-C.I.F. First-Team honors, as well as, all-league and All-Inland Valley kudos. In addition, she was named the team’s offensive player of the year, and earned the school’s coaches award.
“Eliza is energetic,” said Diamond Ranch head coach Vince Spirlin. “She gets along with everyone and is very out-going.
“As a player, she is dynamic,” Spirlin added. “She is definitely the best point-guard we’ve ever had at Diamond Ranch. Eliza anticipates very well and is the floor general when she’s on the court. She loves to win.”
According to Binford, Dy’s signing completes MSU’s 2006-07 recruiting process.
