Bobcat Women’s Basketball Squad Opens with Tech

“We’re excited to get going,” Binford said. “We’ve worked hard since the MSU-Billings game, and Montana Tech is going to be a tough opponent. They just played Eastern Washington to six points.”
Montana State is coming off a 75-69 come-from-behind exhibition win over the Yellowjackets. MSU finished the game with four players in double-figure scoring, including Rebecca Mercer 15, Nubia Garcia 14, Whitney Connolly 12 and Erica Perry 10.
The Bobcats trailed by as much as 14 points, but used 59 percent shooting in the second half to erase the deficit and post the victory.
Montana Tech is 3-1 overall. The Orediggers faced Eastern Washington on Friday in Spokane, where they dropped a 75-69 decision. The two teams were tied at 34-all at intermission, and the Eagles needed to rally for the win.
Tech was paced in the loss by Rebecca Gimeno and Jessie DePell with 17 and 16 points, respectively
