Senior libero Kandice Kelly finished her career as MSU’s all-time digs leader with a team-high 24 saves, while Allyce Bebensee also recorded double-digits with 16.
“It was the same old story,” Malauulu said. “We came out strong and took the first game, and we held big leads in games 3 and 4, but we weren’t able to sustain our level of play. We had a tough time with our passing.”
MSU middle blockers Angela Wiebe and Raelene Purnell paced Montana State at the net with four blocks, apiece. Setters Kami Buettner and Sarah Allen had 22 and 12 assists, respectively.
Portland State (19-6, 14-2) was paced by Jessica Brodie with 29 kills and 18 digs.
