Portland State (12-5, 7-1) received 13 kills from Jessica Frederick and 12 from senior Jessica Brodie to pace the Vikings. PSU out-hit Montana State (6-10, 2-5) .215 to .074, while also holding a sizeable 51-30 advantage in kills.
MSU was led defensively by Patti Anderson with 13 digs, while Kandice Kelly added 11. Angela Wiebe and Stonehouse each recorded three blocks, apiece. Senior setter Kami Buettner dished out 23 assists, while adding seven digs and an ace.
Montana State will host Big Sky leading Sacramento State on Friday.
