"Another typical, easy game (laughing). It was a tremendous effort by the Weber State Wildcats. Even at 2-6, Coach McBride obviously has a good feel for getting his team to play hard and approach each game as one his team has a chance to win. He is a veteran coach, and veteran coaches know what they're doing.
"I didn't feel it was as much on us today as on Weber State for giving a great effort. When you play against man coverage you have to be confident in your throw. Jack (Rolovich) hasn't played against man coverage, not in high school and not here. It looks different. Man coverage is designed to make the other offense drive into the ditch, and I know that because we used to be that team. You aren't going to have guys that are wide open, you'll have guys that are getting separation late in the route, and we had that today. But it's hard to hold the ball that long, and those guys (WSU) are very good."
On the fact that players key to the win such as Jack Rolovich, Michael Beach and Deon Toliver came to MSU as transfers: "The goal of a football team is to win, and to win you need to acquire players that possess heart and toughness and discipline. It's not important how you acquire players, it's important how they come together once they're in your program."

Cornerback Mike Beach, on his game-winning interception: "It was a man coverage call. At halftime, the coaches told me to play a little tighter. I read the out route and jumped it. I saw a touchdown in front of me, and I just went. I figured it was a pretty short distance for a first down, so I expected something pretty quick."
On the notion that his play won the game: "I guess you can say it like that, but we did it together. We won as a team. It's always an 'us' thing here."
Cornerback Tyrone Henderson: "We were very fortunate. It came down to us making plays, especially on defense. They moved the ball on us. We came out (in the fourth quarter) with the mindset that we had to do make a play. We were out there a lot, but that's what a defense is for."
Quarterback Jack Rolovich, on the impact of the touchdown pass to Deon Toliver: "That was a really emotional touchdown, maybe the most emotional touchdown of my career. I felt the crowd coming down, I felt the team coming down. We had to make a play. I knew we would win after that touchdown."
On what the win means: "This was about us coming out. This was about us being ourselves."
