Bobcat Women’s Basketball Team to Scrimmage Sunday

“We’re going to us a lot of different line-ups,” said second-year head coach Tricia Binford. “I would like to see what combinations work well together, and it’s our last opportunity to go up against some different competition before we play MSU-Billings next Thursday.”
The Bobcat women will compete against its male scout team.
Montana State returns all five starters from last season, including seniors Scotta Morton, Alyssa Nelson and Whitney Connolly. Morton and Nelson guided the Bobcats in scoring, averaging 11.6 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.
The Bobcats ended the 2005-06 season 3-23 overall and 2-12 in Big Sky play.
The MSU women’s basketball team was recently picked to finish ninth in both the Big Sky Conference Preseason Coaches and Media polls.
“Getting picked last will be great motivation for our players and organization,” Binford said. “It’s not a surprise because it’s based on last year’s results.”
MSU will open its season on Thursday, Nov. 2 in an exhibition game against MSU-Billings at 7 p.m. in Worthington Arena.
