Golfers Finish Fifth in Final Fall Event

The Bobcats finished the fall season at the PGA-event course in Vancouver in one day of pouring rain and one day of sunshine.
Sophomore LaRae Smith led the MSU contingent and placed ninth in the event with a 158 (80-78). Stephanie Simmons followed Smith in 12th place with a 160 (83-77).
“The course was unbelievably beautiful,” head coach Brittany Bayse said. “The first day it rained so hard the ladies had to change rainsuits after nine holes and wore waterproof gloves. The weather really affects our play—it’s a totally different preparation than the spring season where we play mostly in hot, dry weather.”
Junior Kelly Gillum, who has paced the ‘Cats most of the fall season shot a 161 (82-79).
