The MSU men’s squad was paced by senior Kurt Michels, who finished seventh, covering the 8000-meter course in 25:13. He was followed by Nick Atwood, 18th, 25:32, Matt Beamer, 25th, 25:39, Devin McDowell, 26th, 25:40, Matt Adams, 30th, 25:45, Michael Kapus, 49th, 26:13, and Graydon Curry, 53rd, 26:19.
“The guys did a nice job,” said MSU head coach Dale Kennedy. “Once again the line-up was a little topsy-turvy, but everyone contributed. Kurt Michels ran well and led the way; our kids are making good, steady progress.”

The Bobcat women’s team finished at the back of the 35-team field, which included eleven nationally ranked squads.

“Carrie Gottschalk really had a great run,” Kennedy said. “She bettered her time from last year by almost 45-seconds. Elisabeth Driscoll also recorded a time that was significantly better than last year, as well.
“Our women ran in a race that featured the best teams and individuals from around the country, and this will be a positive experience for us,” Kennedy added.
No. 1 Stanford captured the Blue Race team title with 45 points. The Cardinal was followed by Minnesota 200, Arizona State 224, BYU 242 and Providence 247. MSU tallied 821 points.
