Bobcats Skiers in Seventh at CU Invite

The Bobcats were led by Chris Coe and Mark Iverson in the men’s 10-kilometer classic race. Coe finished 15th overall in 29:31.9, while Iverson finished one spot back at 16th with a clocking of 29:32.0.
Also contributing for the Bobcats were Tim Downey, 31st, 31:09.2; Nathan Park, 33rd, 31:21.2; and Mike Gleason, 39th, 32:42.2.
Denver’s John Stene won the individual title in 27:30.3.
The MSU women were paced in the five-kilometer classic event by Ine Fahle, who finished 19th in a time of 17:18.2. She was followed by Mandy Bowden, 23rd, 17:32.5; Claire Rennie, 32nd, 18:03.8; Rachel Goldstein, 34th, 18:27.1; and Korie Steitz, 36th, 18:35.9.
Colorado’s Maria Grevsgaard won the women’s classic title in 15:29.1.
CU holds the first day lead with 163 points, followed by DU 148, New Mexico 125, Alaska-Anchorage 106, Utah 97, Nevada 94, MSU 73, Western State 59, Wyoming 37, Whitman 27 and Boise State 0.
The Nordic freestyle races will be Saturday afternoon. The Alpine portion of the Colorado Invitational will be held Feb 3-4.
