DALE KENNEDY QUOTES
“We’ve always felt in this program that the team element is a positive aspect of college track and field. We always point toward our dual meets, so we’re excited about this weekend. We have a long tradition of competing against Montana and Weber State in indoor duals. They are two excellent programs. The Bobcat-Grizzly dual is always important to our fans and the people in our program. Weber State has competed in two meets, so they probably have a leg up on us and Montana. That makes a big difference early in the year, although it evens out as the season progresses. We’re off to an excellent start. It began two weeks ago with those multi-event kids, and I think the rest of the team really piggy-backed off that last year. I can’t think of another start this good in my 25 years at Montana State. We had 10 life bests last week, and 10 automatic (Big Sky) qualifiers on each side. I think we’ll make good improvement this week, but we’ll need to. Weber State is one of the strong programs historically in the Big Sky, but we are, too.We have deep respect for Montana. There are spots in all the dual where the teams match up well, and spots where one team or the other has an advantage. It should make for an interesting, exciting night of track and field.”
