Josh Henigman set the Montana State University record in the Men’s Weight Throw

BOZEMAN, MT – Henigman’s 1st place throw of 19.98m (65-06.75) is the 2nd best throw in Big Sky History. Henigman was followed by teammate Jesse Allen with a throw of 18.09m (59-04.25). Both Henigman and Allen qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships. Allen also qualified in the Men’s Shot Put placing 3rd with a throw of 16.62 (54-06.50).
Coach Dale Kennedy was pleased with the teams performance, “We had 9 kids get life time best marks in this meet and we had 13 kids get big sky automatic marks”
Steve Heberly placed 1st and qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 48.77. Heberly placed 2nd and also qualified in the Men’s 55 Meter Dash with a time of 6.49.
Thomas Seely finished 1st and qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships in the Men’s Pole Vault with a height of 4.69m (15-04.50).
John Voegal placed 1st in the Men’s Triple Jump with a jump of 13.93m (45-08.50).
Erin Jones-Graf Qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships in the 55 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.23. Jones-Graf also won the Women’s Triple Jump with a jump of 11.72m (38-05.50).
Elouise Rudy qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships and made the NCAA Provisional in the Women’s Pole Vault with a height of 3.97m (13-00.25). Rudy also tied the Fieldhouse record which was held by Shannon Agee in 2001.
Kylee Zent won the Women’s Shot Put with a throw of 14.25 (46-09.00). Zent was followed by teammates Hannah Furlong 2nd 13.88m (45-06.50) and Carra Greyn 3rd 13.74m (45-01.00). All three qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships.
Ashley Jones won the Women’s Weight Throw with a throw of 17.10 (56-01.25). Jones was followed by teammates Megan Lee 2nd 16.61m (54-06.00), Karen Helvey 3rd 16.48m (54-01.00), and Mary Jo Kraft 5th 15.53m (50-11.50). All four qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships.
Coach Kennedy looks forward to getting the team back to form by the Big Sky Conference Championships, “It’s not so much where we are right now but it’s the direction were moving to and where we’ll be at the end of February, that’s what’s really important. The history of our program is to always get better every week and we should come out right on time at the end of February.”
