Montana State Spikers Chop Down ‘Jacks

“I really liked our fight,” said third-year head coach Miya Malauulu. “We stayed competitive the entire match and we’re happy to get the road split.”
For the match, Montana State (7-8, 1-1) hit .209 from the field, while limiting the Lumberjacks to .128. In addition, the Bobcats notched 11 blocks and 45 digs, while Northern Arizona (2-9, 1-1) recorded nine stuffs and 37 saves.
MSU cruised to a 2-0 advantage on solid hitting. After two stanzas, the Bobcats were hitting at a .322 clip, while NAU hit .160. In the third game, the Lumberjacks built a 28-24 advantage, but Montana State rallied with a 6-0 run to win the match following a Stonehouse kill.
Also contributing to the Bobcat victory was Angela Wiebe with seven kills, a .353 attack mark and a match-high nine blocks. Junior libero Kandice Kelly added 11 digs.
NAU was paced by Kailee Savage with 12 kills.
