Cross Country kicks its 2005 season off.

BOZEMAN— The Montana State men’s and women’s cross country teams kicked off the 2005 campaign with an impressive showing at the Montana State Invitational on Saturday.
The Bobcat women began its 2005 season on a successful note with a second place finish at their own meet Saturday, running in overcast showers at Bridger Creek Golf Course,
The Bobcat women were led by the Larson sisters Jayme and Kayla who both finished in the top ten. Jayme and Kayla finished eighth and ninth respectively with the same time of 18:00.00.
Elisabeth Driscoll and Caroline Gottschalk finished in the top 15. Driscoll placed 12th while Gottschalk finished in 13th place.
The Bobcat women placed second with a team score of 72 while meet winner Utah State had 24.
Utah State’s Tiffany Strickland won the race with a time of 17:16.00
The Bobcat men were led by junior Kurt Michels (Kalispell, Mont.) who posted a time of 25:16.00 on the 8-K course. 47 seconds back was freshman Graydon Curry (Gillette, Wyo.)who finished in 12th place with a time of 26:03.00. The men finished in fourth place with 91 points.
The Bobcat men were without two of their top runners junior Tony Bachmann and freshman Matthew Adams due to illness.
Utah State's Trever Ball won the race with a time of 24:35.00.
The teams resume action in two weeks when they travel to Missoula for the University of Montana Invite. (October 1st)
