Kramer Chills with Trip to Seahawks Camp

Mike Kramer is no stranger on the Eastern Washington University football practice fields, but this week on the school's Cheney, Wash., campus he isn't the least bit interested in his former Eagles team.
Kramer, Eastern's head coach for six seasons before arriving at Montana State in 2000, is visiting the Seattle Seahawks' Cheney training camp this week, a late-summer ritual dating to his days as Eastern's top man. He has considerable access to camp goings-on, and has built a strong rapport with Seattle head coach Mike Holmgren.
"Lots of cool stuff," Kramer says of what he sees during his regular pilgrimages to Cheney. "Mostly kick teams stuff, that's what I'm really interested in."
Former Idaho coach Kieth Gilbertson is currently an assistant offensive line coach for the Seahawks, a friendship Kramer enjoys renewing in person. "I talk to Gilbie all the time, but it's fun to see him."
Kramer returns to Bozeman this weekend, ready to preside over his seventh fall camp as MSU's head coach. "I'm ready to go. This is a great way to finish the summer."
