Former Bozeman High Standout Joins Bobcat Women’s Basketball Staff

“It’s nice to have someone affiliated with Montana on the staff,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “Andrea has a great background in the game and was a very knowledgeable player. She is a very organized person and will be doing a lot of things that go on behind the scenes of a basketball program, and that’s crucial to the success of the team.”
Lalum, a 2000 graduate of Bozeman High School, led the Hawks to back-to-back Montana state AA titles. For her efforts, she was named the Montana Gatorade Player of the Year and the Montana High School Player of the Year for 1999-2000. As a senior, she led the state in scoring averaging 19.1 points per game, while also finishing second in rebounding.
“I’m excited to be home,” Lalum said. “It feels like I never left. I’m glad to be back in Montana and around family and friends. Coach Binford is an awesome person and this is a great opportunity. I had a great high school experience in Bozeman, and I’m happy to be a Bobcat.”
Following her stint at Bozeman High School, Lalum played four seasons at the University of Washington, where she was an All-Pac 10 First-Team selection in 2004. She also garnered All-Pac 10 honorable mention kudos as a sophomore and junior. As a freshman, Lalum led the Huskies to the NCAA Elite Eight and was named to the West Regional All-Tournament Team. In addition, she was a 2004 Verizon Academic All-District VIII selection.
Lalum will also look to attend graduate school pursuing a degree in public administration.
