Bobcat Trio Headed for NCAA Meet

Three Bobcat throwers earned spots in the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, announced on Tuesday.
Junior Josh Henigman and sophomores Kim Berg and Ashley Jones -- all native Montanans -- each landed in the NCAA field. Henigman, from Bridger, qualified in the discus, Jones, from Harlowton, in the hammer throw, and Berg, from Kremlin, in the javelin throw.
"This is a great accomplishment for those three kids," Kennedy said. "We had a chance to get six in, but we're as thrilled as we can be for these kids. Maybe the most exciting thing is that they're all underclassmen."
Jones enters her first NCAA Championship Meet seeded 13th in the hammer. Her season's best toss of 202-7 was a school record. Berg's best mark of 159-9, also a school record, lands her 19th in the NCAA javelin field. Henigman's best discus mark of 180-10 is the 24th-best mark in the nation.
