Three Bobcats Take Steps Toward NCAA Meet

Montana State freshman Elouise Rudy cleared 12-11.75 on her third attempt at that height to finish sixth at the NCAA Midwest Regional Track and Field Championships in Norman, Okla. on Friday.
Rudy was one of three Bobcats to finish in the top eight at Friday's regional meet. She joined Ashley Jones, who finished sixth in the hammer throw, and Josh Henigman, who was eighth in the discus.
"Those three really performed well," said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. "They put themselves into the pool of people that will be considered for the NCAA Championships. Ashley Jones is ranked pretty high nationally (13th entering the regionals) that she has a great chance. Josh is on the bubble, and Ellie has a decent chance."
Rudy's mark was a personal best, and was the second-best mark in Montana State history. It was also the second-best mark in Big Sky Conference history.
"She really vaulted well," Kennedy said. "She is finishing her freshman season strong."
