Bobcat Tennis Standout Earns Second Straight All-District Academic Honor

The team was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. It is the second straight season Gebicki has earned the accolade.
Gebicki, a junior from Lodz, Poland, played No. 2 singles, and combined with Braden Olson at No. 1 doubles this season. Gebicki recorded a 25-10 overall mark in singles action, including an 18-5 ledger at No. 2 singles. In doubles play, Gebicki and Olson recorded a 15-7 record.
Gebicki played a major role in Montana State’s back-to-back Big Sky Conference titles. For his efforts, he is a three-time All-Big Sky first-team selection and a three time All-Big Sky academic selection, as well. This spring, he was twice named Big Sky Conference Athlete of the Week.
Gebicki currently has a 3.98 grade-point average in industrial engineering. Gebicki had the highest gpa in the district. His name will now be placed on the national Academic All-America ballot.
Also named to the all-district academic team were Lucas Christianson, wrestling, North Dakota State; Matt Karmondy, tennis, Air Force; Luke Lefever, wrestling, Air Force; Bryce Leonhardt, wrestling, Wyoming; Matt Murray, wrestling, Nebraska; Dominik Schweiger, skiing, Denver; Dan Silva, golf, Wyoming; Brett Sterling, hockey, Colorado College; and Matt Van Cleave, golf, Kansas State.
Student-athletes in the sports of fencing, golf, hockey, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, water polo and wrestling and competing for NCAA Division I schools in the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Alberta and Saskatchewan, were eligible to be nominated for the honor.
