Fields and Ricardi Named Big Sky Conference Scholar Athletes

Student-athletes were selected by their respective institutions based upon athletic and academic performance during the school year. To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.20, be a member of the graduating class and/or have completed their last year of intercollegiate athletic eligibility, have completed at least two years of intercollegiate competition at the institution, and be a letterwinner.
Fields, who transferred to Montana State from Drury University in 2002, was a starter as a senior on the Bobcat women’s basketball program. In addition, she was a two-time All-Big Sky Conference academic pick, and served as president of the MSU Student-Athlete Advisory Council. Fields was a health and human development major.
Ricardi, a native of Gardiner, finished 14th at the Big Sky Conference cross country championships and 50th overall at the NCAA Mountain Region meet. Named to numerous All-Big Sky Conference academic squads, Ricardi was a mechanical engineering major.
